There's a continuous battle going on to diminish the rights of minorities/non-conformist people, often fuelled by a zealous misinterpretation of religious texts. Whether these people are poor, women, queer, trans, black, brown, … - somehow, they can't seem to be allowed the same autonomy or basic human rights as the people fighting this unrightful battle (mostly middle aged white men).
